Karl Springer was the defining name in American decorative design of the 1970s — his New York studio produced some of the most glamorous and precisely made pieces of the era. This bench is characteristic of his work: a clear lucite frame that reads as almost weightless, chrome accents, and white bouclé upholstery that is soft and tactile without being fussy. It is the kind of piece that works in an entrance, at the end of a bed, or anywhere a room needs something with presence and elegance. In very good vintage condition showing minimal signs of age.
