Danish furniture makers in the 1970s and 80s got very good at one thing: bending beech into shapes that carry you. This lounge chair is a fine example. The frame is a run of steam-bent curves, arms sweeping down into the base, and between them hangs a canvas sling that gives a little as you sit, the way a hammock does.
On top lies one long cushion of tan leather, button-tufted from seat to crown and finished with a rolled headrest that falls neatly over the back of the frame. The leather has a soft, buttery feel, and the pale beech beside it keeps the whole thing light.
Sold individually. We have two, so you can take one for a reading corner or both as a pair.
